Linda Bonilla
Grant-Valkaria, Florida

Coach Linda was born in Boston Massachusetts and raised in New York. Linda and her husband Alex are High School sweethearts and embarked in the military lifestyle with her husband serving in the United States Marine Corps. Some of their duty stations have been: Pensacola, FL; MCAS Cherry Point, NC; Okinawa, Japan; Little Rock AFB, AR; MCAS Kaneohe-Bay,Hawaii; MCAS Miramar, CA. As a military spouse for 26 years, she loved being able to travel the world with her family, experiencing  many different cultures and ways of life.

Before Teaching as a Swim Life Instructor, Linda worked as a child care provider and Program assistant with MCAS Child Development Center, Teen center and the Resource and referral Program at Cherry Point, NC. During her time there she completed her CDA in early childhood education and special needs, and in Okinawa Linda Volunteered at the DOD Kinser Elementary school where her children attended. Once state-side she returned to work with MCAS Cherry point Child development center. In Arkansas Linda changed her career path and was building custom in ground swimming pools, duck blinds and deer stands, and she also took up embroidery, opening her home embroidery business. While living in Hawaii Linda volunteered in the community, her spouse's Marine Unit, and continued her embroidery business. In California Linda restarted her embroidery business and also volunteered with the cub scouts and French Valley Elementary School.

Linda and Alex have three Amazing children. Her children have had swim lessons with various swim programs, however on a visit to Okinawa, Japan she experienced Swim Life through a friend and was amazed how they cared for not only the skill but the emotional needs of the student, and how they also involved the parents and showed them how to effectively work with their children. 3 yrs later, her great friend Ana, who is an instructor with Swim Life, shared with her the opportunity to join the team and train with Swim Life. When she heard the news about two separate family members who had a child drown within 2 months of each other (one survived the other didn't), and realized there were no survival swim instructors in the area, she decided this was a calling for her and made the decision to train with Swim Life. Linda’s goal as an Instructor is to ensure the availability of swim lessons to everyone.

Linda custom tailors lessons to the needs of each individual student with a safe, gentle, and fun swimming experience. She teaches infants to adults, including those with special needs. She believes everyone should have fun and be safe around the water!

Linda is teaching in Brevard County, FL. She is excited to bring Swim Life to Grant-Valkaria, and share this life saving skill with those in the surrounding area.
