LeighAnna was born in the Florida panhandle city of Port St. Joe. At the age of 7 she moved to Seminole and started swimming competitively. At the age of 13 her dad was transferred to DeLand where she still swam and earned her lifeguard certification. She realized then how important swim lessons were for young children.

After she married and moved to Longwood, she was watching local news and saw babies being taught to roll and float and knew that she needed to find an instructor for her son. During lessons, she was mesmerized by what was being taught and how her son was learning to float at such a young age. She knew then that was what she wanted and needed to do so she trained the following summer and never looked back.

LeighAnna has been an instructor with Swim Life since 2019 and has loved every second of teaching at the Sanford facility. She's currently teaching students at the Sanford indoor facility but will begin teaching in Deland, Florida and in Longwood, Florida during the warmer months.

She's the mom to 3 boys; David, Wyatt and Leighton, all of whom learned to swim before the age of 16 months. Most recently, she became Maeme to her first grandchild, Dakota Rae, and she’ll be in for lessons soon! In her spare time she loves spending time with family (who all live locally), fishing, boating, riding horses, trips to the beach and being outside working on projects.
