Kristina Hunter
Okinawa, Japan
Coach Kristina is a California native whose love of swimming began when she joined her highschool swim team. She went on to teach as a swim aide throughout the summers during highschool. She met and married her husband in 2013 and began a life as a Marine wife that would take her around the world. It was while living in Okinawa, Japan that she began to realize the need for her two young children to become proficient swimmers. Even with a swim background she found it difficult to get her children swimming and turned to Swim Life. After just a few weeks of her children’s program her passion for drowning prevention caught fire and she began inquiring about becoming a certified Swim Life instructor and became a part of the Oki Swim Life team of instructors in early 2019. Her family has recently relocated to Hubert, North Carolina, where she currently teaches.
Kristina holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Anthropology and English from Humboldt State University. She loves spending time with her family and getting outdoors whenever possible. She, her husband and 2 & 5 year old children enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, and playing in their own backyard whenever possible.
Her certifications include:
Swim Life Aquatic Education Specialist
Swim Life Stroke Development Technician
